We commissioned Sifo and Mantap to conduct a nationally representative survey of managers’ and employees’ perceptions of digitalisation. The report covers Swedish companies in the manufacturing, retail and food industries.
Some of the key insights from the report:
- One in four employees (24 per cent) and one in five managers (19 per cent) believe that their company’s management team does not have a good understanding of their employees’ willingness to change
- 56 per cent of managers believe that their position will be replaced by AI within five years, while 61 per cent of employees believe that their position will never be replaced by AI
- A third of all employees (35 per cent) lack clarity about who is responsible for driving digitalisation in the company, while only 3 per cent of senior managers share this uncertainty
“The considerable differences between managers and employees indicate that managers are unable to effectively communicate the strategy to others in the organisation. Many companies see digitalisation as an IT project instead of a change project, which makes the transformation difficult to implement.”
